❝ okay so i might have   gotten him a little bit electrocuted! but it’s
          fine—- he’ll be
fine, i swear mom; i’ll fix him, i promise! ❞       sure
he avoided blame,     and attempted to shove it onto his father but
he made a promise–    and the fact he’s already attempting to sort
the little droids insides out and figure out what was short circuited
and what was fried from what is working and functioning–   should
prove at least that he was trying to rectify his mistake.

image

a heavy exhale as the boy reveals what had happened. not of frustration, exactly, but for the sake of common sense, and — an aspect of TRUST. ❝ ben, sweetheart, you could’ve just told me. i wouldn’t have gotten mad — and i’m not mad now. ❞ a pause, as she crosses her arms, greens shifting from her son’s blues to the mess of a droid on the table.  ❝ besides, i’m sure i can lend a hand. ❞

hands not stopping their stirring of the ingredients in the bowl before her, she turns her head to look at her son over her shoulder. she smiles at his use of words ( the new lingo these days, she’s sure ), and focuses in on the stirring utensil with her mind. hands retreating from the aforementioned object, she rubs them together to get rid of whatever flour lingered upon them while she let the ingredients stir themselves. ❝ what’s up, kid

❝ not my fault if he was faulty, mom! blame dad–  he should’ve
looked the little guy over before he brought it home. ❞    oh yes
shift the blame as he tosses out a fried cerebral chip,    the boy
quickly scrounging  through a box of extra parts next to him on
                   the counter.

image

❝ no, i’m not blaming dad. the thing was FINE when we brought
              him home.
❞ she knows her son well enough – and knows her
own species well enough - to distinguish a truth from a lie.
❝ ben, what were you doing ? ❞

vongsense-deactivated20151017 asked:

“I don’t know what I’m doing.”

❝ there isn’t a creature that truly DOES know what they’re doing.
in a galaxy like this, it’s a surprise that everyone’s still functioning properly.
                 don’t worry about it.
trust me. you’ll be fine.

he may have been practicing in the house ;  and he may have
reflected and stun bolt into the kitchen, which just
may have
hit the small little      droid leaving it whirring and smoking and
likely short circuited, but it’s not like he’ll admit that.

❝ sparky had a lil’ bit of a problem,
                                                                                so i’m fixing him. ❞

image

skeptical  green  eyes  narrow  as mara places her hands on her
hips — lips parted to speak, though not QUITE finding the words
to say. for really, she can’t really
believe him.

           ❝ a problem?
                   we just bought him
two weeks ago.  ❞

❝ hey mom! pass me that will you? ❞

            ❝ is that the ——— ?
                      ben, what are you
doing ?

❛  you know, living out here — among the stars, in a
big, black void – never gets OLD, does it? it’s pretty
           amazing, actually.

it’s a CONSTANT; space, time. and though stars may fade,
others are continuously formed to take their place. CONSTANT.
war seems to be a constant as well — such as this one. creature
will always fight creature, and just as the stars fade, life fades -
always to be replaced somehow, someway.

“Well, you know — it helps that I have a great teacher.”
REGARDLESS, Mara’s words are an encouragement,
ones that Jaina is going to hold on to.

image

❛   — that is VERY true.
a grin – for as humble as she may be (really), mara
takes whatever compliment she can ; if only to reflect
that positivity onto someone like jaina.
